List of health insurance companies

ÖKK was established in 1996 as a foundation in the canton of Graubünden. Already at the beginning of the 20th century, several 39 public health insurance companies joined forces and worked closely together. After the KVG came into force in 1996, they decided to establish a foundation.

The Visana Group is headquartered in Bern, the company has over 800,000 insured private individuals and about 14,000 insured companies. With 100 locations throughout Switzerland and more than 1,000 employees, Visana Group had a premium volume of 3.3 billion Swiss francs in 2019 with revenues of 196.4 million.

SWICA, headquartered in Winterthur, is a Swiss insurance company focusing on illness and accidents. It was created in 1992 by the merger of the four large health insurance companies OSKA, ZOKU, SBKK and Panorama.

Concordia, the Swiss health and accident insurance company, was founded in 1914 to provide insurance products not only for private individuals but also for companies.
